Why integrating economic and technical expertise is the key to damages assessment in international arbitration?

During a panel discussion at the XVII ICC Russia Arbitration Conference, Alexey provided a detailed analysis, using construction disputes as a case study, on the following points:

◾ Experts must be involved in at the earliest stage of the dispute;

◾ Proper damage assessment requires the comprehensive and collaborative work of various experts (engineer, technology expert, forensic accountant, quantity surveyor, and other);

◾ And each expert covers a specific segment of evidence, forming a complete and convincing picture for the tribunal.

Key message:
Success in arbitration dispute often depends on the coordinated work of a multi-disciplinary expert team.
